Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" won me the MBB Finance Sector's MBB Idol Title

On 13th November 2009 (yes Friday the 13th), my employer Maybank held our Finance Sector's "Glitz & Glam" night for which one of the key highlights was the MBB Idol contest for which I took part in. I was last to perform among the 7 contestants competing and as the saying goes : "The last shall become first". I sang a very familiar song i.e. Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" which I have sung in many outings previously but never in a competition as this. Even when I started my first verse, the cheers from my colleagues were overwhelming and it was indeed a wonderful experience for me.

For my effort, I came out tops and was rewarded with a "BIG" Mock cheque with a relatively small sum of $. Anyway, it is not the money that matters but I did it for fun and for entertainment. Signed IN Again !

Hello folks ! I am back at blogging after an absence of a few months eversince I forgot my password and was lazy to re-activate it with a new one. For the past few months, it has been a busy period and one "roller coaster" ride for me in terms of life's challenges. One of the more interesting events in the past few months was the celebration of my church SIB (Sidang Injil Borneo) KL's 15th Anniversary on 24th & 25th October 2009.

As you can see from the photo on the left, all the Pastors and Leaders on stage were beaming and smiling from ear to ear as we have so much to celebrate and thank God for. It is all because of Him and for His Glory that we celebrated 15 years of His Goodness and Faithfulness. Ps. Chew shared from Psalm 115 : 1 "Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your Name be the Glory, because of your love and faithfulness." What a Mighty God we serve and we look ahead for another exciting chapter in SIB's journey as we gear ourselves to do greater exploits with God Almighty on our side ! Amen !
